This piece is just one example of the imaginative and fresh landscapes of Joan Peris. All his paintings are as fascinating as they are unusual, emitting the expressive need of the author. They are therefore more allegoric and loaded with emotion than real; they are his imagined realities. It seems that the vocation of his work is to transport us to alternative and Utopian terrain, in much the same way as literature or dance.
These are harmonic, recognisable paintings of apparent simplicity. Yet his knowledge of pigments and research process allow him to play with the textures and achieve compositions where the white backgrounds and coloured forms play an equally leading role
Sobre el artista
Joan Peris es un artista visual multidisciplinar que reduce sus paisajes imaginarios, nacidos de su interés por los skylines, para centrarse en la interacción de color y textura. A veces, los infinitos cielos mediterráneos acrílicos se funden con edificios de lino en collage, mientras que en otras, la luz blanca y translúcida del sur de Europa envuelve suavemente sus escenas.
Sus pinturas nos transportan a territorios alternativos y utópicos: lugares armoniosos y relajantes.
La visión única de Peris y su pasión por la experimentación con los materiales lo han llevado a crear vistas personalizadas de los tejados cosmopolitas de Barcelona. En contraste, también logra aquietar nuestras mentes con edificios agrícolas desolados, texturizados y pigmentados, ubicados en vastas llanuras.
Nacido en Castellón, este artista polifacético estudió diseño gráfico y trabajó como diseñador cerámico, a la vez que desarrollaba su interés por la fotografía y la pintura. En 1997, consolidó sus conocimientos artísticos y comenzó a trabajar desde su estudio en Barcelona, exponiendo con éxito internacionalmente desde entonces.
