  Peter Bol (1947, Eindhoven) is a Dutch painter known for his expressive painting style and vibrant use of color. As the son of the well-known painter Kees Bol, he was introduced to painting at an early age. His father often took him outdoors to paint, where Peter learned to observe his surroundings carefully and study the landscape.
  
  His work is characterized by bright color combinations and the use of impasto, a technique in which paint is applied in thick layers so that the texture and the painterly gesture remain clearly visible. In his oeuvre, Bol mainly focuses on landscapes and (floral) still lifes. Through his paintings he aims to capture the beauty of everyday life and invites the viewer to look at the world around them with a fresh perspective.
  
  In this work he has depicted a bridge over water. On the back it is written that he made the painting for someone. It also notes that the work was painted on a cloudy February 7, 1996, at a temperature of -4 degrees.

  Peter Bol, nacido en 1947 en Eindhoven, es un pintor holandés conocido por su estilo expresivo y su uso vibrante del color. Hijo del reconocido pintor Kees Bol, desde muy joven se sumergió en el mundo del arte. Su padre a menudo lo llevaba afuera a pintar, donde Peter aprendió el arte de la observación y la ensoñación. ​

  Bol se formó en la Academia de Bellas Artes St. Joost de Breda. Su obra se caracteriza por combinaciones de colores brillantes y el uso del empasto, una técnica en la que la pintura se aplica en capas gruesas, haciendo claramente visible la textura. Se centra principalmente en paisajes y naturalezas muertas (de flores). ​

  En sus pinturas, Bol se esfuerza por capturar la belleza cotidiana. Él ve la pintura como una forma de experimentar la unidad de las cosas y escapar de la fugacidad del momento. Su enfoque es intuitivo y espontáneo, observando la naturaleza y traduciéndola en composiciones poderosas y tiernas. ​
