Sobre el artista
Hiroomi Ito (Tokio, 1970) es un artista japonés residente en Barcelona. Su obra se reconoce al instante por sus composiciones refinadas y su técnica meticulosa, que a primera vista evocan la estética del Nihonga, la pintura tradicional japonesa.
Sin embargo, al observarla con más atención, la práctica de Ito revela un lenguaje pictórico más complejo. Influenciada por su larga residencia en Cataluña, su obra refleja un diálogo continuo entre tradición y desplazamiento, entre Oriente y Occidente.
A través de esta sutil tensión, Ito explora cuestiones de identidad, memoria y origen cultural, creando pinturas que equilibran la sensibilidad clásica japonesa con una perspectiva claramente contemporánea e intercultural.
