Nico Vrielink (1958, Reusel) siguió un curso de formación de profesores en una academia de arte en Bélgica. Sin embargo, la enseñanza resultó no ser su vocación y desde 1984 trabaja solo como artista.
En 1985, durante uno de sus muchos viajes, Vrielink conoció a su esposa Jeane en Singapur. Es amor a primera vista, y Jeane ha sido la mayor fuente de inspiración de Vrielink desde entonces. Con razón se la puede llamar su musa. Vrielink ha realizado más de 4000 obras de arte con ella como tema. No solo el modelo se ha mantenido igual a lo largo de los años, también lo han hecho las pinturas. Mayormente (medio) desnudo, oriental, realista, idílico, reconocible y exótico.
Su punto de partida es retratar el rostro de su esposa como la perfección. El resto del cuerpo, la decoración y el acabado general se adaptan continuamente a esto, de oscuro a brillante. Debido a la discreción que Vrielink pone en su trabajo, se mantiene una distancia natural entre el modelo y el espectador.
Vrielink y Jeane han vivido en muchos lugares diferentes a lo largo de los años, desde los Países Bajos hasta Francia y Bali. Todos estos lugares tienen su influencia en su obra. El trabajo de Vrielink ha sido admirado y aclamado en todo el mundo, como lo demuestran las numerosas exposiciones en los lugares más exóticos.
