  In honor of the 700th anniversary of Amsterdam, a large manifestation was organized in the RAI in 1975 under the name “Mokum 700”. The R.A.I. was converted into a large market square with town hall, fire brigade, stalls, etc. Many Amsterdam companies had their own “house” with typical Amsterdam facades. At the entrance, five one-florin pieces were given for 50 cents each. During the manifestation, these florins were currency at all the stalls at the R.A.I. The coins were struck at the Royal Dutch Mint and bear the mint mark and mint master's mark. The piece offered here is one of only two silver test runs.
