Jean Pezous is a French painter.
He was born in Toulon, France in March of 1815. He studied with Senequier, who taught at the nautical school. He then went to Paris and studied under Orsel. He lived for a time at Bondy (Seine-St-Denis) and from 1846 to 1880 exhibited regularly at the Paris Salon. Pezous produced a large number of small paintings on a variety of different subjects, often introducing many figures. (Source: Benezit: Dictionary of Artists, vol. 10, p. 1299)
Work of Pezous is Pezous work is included in collections of the Hist. Carnavalet Museum in Paris, the Museum of Fine Arts in Toulon and the museum of Carpentras (Provence, France)
Sobre el artista
Jean Pezous nació en 1815 en Francia, en una familia modesta. En 1830, Pezous se presentó en l'Ecole de Dessin de Toulon y fue tomado bajo las alas de Bernard Sénéguier. Después de la muerte de sus padres, Pezous se mudó a París, donde se postuló en l'Ecole des Beaux-Arts. A menudo se le encargaba decorar el interior de lugares públicos como varias iglesias en París, pero también cafés y hoteles. El artista falleció en 1885.
