    The river Vecht with elegant company in a rowing boat

    Isaac Ouwater (1748, Amsterdam – 1793, Amsterdam), was an 18th-century Dutch painter. He worked in Amsterdam, Haarlem, and Utrecht, and is well-known for his landscapes and architectural scenes. Ouwater worked in the tradition of the 17th century painters Jan van der Heyden and Gerrit Berckheyde. Several musea, like the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, Gemeentemuseum Arnhem and the Westfries Museum in Hoorn have paintings of Ouwater in their collection.

    This painting shows us an elegant company in a rowing boat on the river Vecht near a country house and a windmill beyond.

    Isaac Ouwater nació en 1748, en Amsterdam. Fue un pintor holandés del siglo XVIII. Trabajó en Amsterdam, Haarlem y Utrecht, y es conocido por sus paisajes y escenas arquitectónicas. Ouwater trabajó en la tradición de los pintores del siglo XVII Jan van der Heyden y Gerrit Berckheyde. Varios museos, como el Rijksmuseum de Amsterdam, el Gemeentemuseum Arnhem y el Westfries Museum de Hoorn, tienen pinturas de Ouwater en su colección. Isaac murió en Amsterdam en 1793.
